I am married to Stuart, and together we have two children, Matthew and Emily. I am passionate about supporting parent carers and their children with vision impairment and additional and complex needs.  I have lived experience, as my son Matthew has a vision impairment and additional needs.  

I am a qualified Primary School teacher, gaining seven years teaching experience before starting my family. When Matthew was born, I was his full-time carer for five years, supporting his diverse needs and trying to manage the huge responsibility of being a parent carer. When Matthew started school, I returned to work outside of the home and joined Angel Eyes NI in 2018.

As a family, we have experienced and benefited from the care, support and knowledge from Angel Eyes NI since Matthew was one year old. This is my driving force. I use my personal journey and knowledge I have gained since, from both our highly skilled Angel Eyes NI team as well as from other parents and carers, to support and empower other parents and support them as they navigate their journey.
