Karen Wilson

Education Services Manager

Karen.wilson@angeleyesni.org

I am a qualified Primary School teacher gaining teaching experience in both Scotland and Spain, before joining Angel Eyes in 2016.

I am passionate about the role education plays in providing opportunities for all children and young people and am exceptionally proud of the work Angel Eyes does in helping drive positive change for equity in education, for children with vision impairment. I advocate on the rights of children to fully participate in all aspects of school life; to be provided with the necessary support and opportunities to fulfil their potential.

I see it as my responsibility to continuously develop my professional understanding and knowledge of the impact of vision impairment, both in education access and the wider world. I am always humbled by the learning I receive and the strength I witness of those parents / carers I support.

Lastly, I am the proud owner of two outrageous chihuahuas, something I thought would never happen, but wouldn’t change for the world!

I advocate on the rights of children to fully participate in all aspects of school life; to be provided with the necessary support and opportunities to fulfil their potential.
